This is serving as a useful reality check...

Given the position of Yale and Harvard as the country's top two law schools, and given how many Yale and Harvard graduates go on to become (for example) President of the United States, I'd built up in my mind an unrealistic expectation of what the students would be like.

I realize how stupid this sounds, but not only did I somehow expect them to be older, I even expected them to be taller :)

And while wandering through the campus, the snippets of conversation I overheard seemed perfectly ordinary (though in retrospect I don't know what I expected - that everyone would be speaking Latin?).

I think the end result of these tours will be that if later on in my career I find myself going up against a Harvard or Yale graduate, that fact alone won't intimidate me.
