This is the gravesite of Paul Dirac, the physicist who shared the 1933 Nobel Prize with Schrodinger for laying down the foundations of quantum mechanics. For a time, he also held the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at Cambridge (i.e. the same position once held by Newton and which is currently held by Stephen Hawking). Dirac was the first human to predict the existence of antimatter, which we first gained the ability to artificially create in the early 1990's (i.e. after his death), and which we gained the ability to trap for study only six years ago. Like Abraham Lincoln, he appears to have been an atheist.
