Two resources I should have mentioned

The first is http://www.americanrhetoric.com

This web site provides transcripts and audio clips of famous speeches from American history, politics, and film. It also offers articles on the nuts and bolts of effective speechwriting, with illustrative examples. If nothing else, you can use it to relive the best moments from some of your favorite movies.

The second is http://www.digave.com/videos/

This is the web site for a former New York City bicycle messenger who started mounting a video camera on his helmet and videorecording what he saw while racing through traffic in various parts of the world. It's blatantly unsafe, but also blatantly amazing. I've watched "Mexican Highway" dozens of times, and still can't get over it.
