OK, that was weird :)

I'm wondering if it isn't the case that a lot of the small towns in this part of the country are largely based on RV's and mobile homes, which are then moved out during the summer.

I'm wondering that because large RV's were seemingly the lion's share of this city's business frontage: even the main drag leaned heavily towards RV's with awnings selling junk.

This was not a gemology convention in any meaningful sense of the phrase - I guess I was misinformed about that.
