Brawley CA

I'm staying at the Townhouse Lodge in Brawley CA tonight. Tomorrow will be a strenuous day: high mileage, a lengthy climb, and only one possible food/water stop (i.e. I'll need to bring more than usual with me). There is no motel option until Palo Verde CA, where I already have reservations.

But, based on how well I did today, none of this should be a problem provided I get a 6am start.

Interestingly enough, Brawley is much more like my pre-conception of what a "border town" would look like than Jacumba was, even though obviously it's much farther from the border.

I've started sending updates to the Adventure Cycling Association folks as I go: so far they've only been minor discoveries, such as a hotel or motel having changed its name since the map was printed. In general, I have been very impressed with the accuracy and utility of their maps.
