The Mitzvah Tank

So, yesterday I explored Little Italy, Chinatown, and Harlem. Today I'm in Brooklyn's Crown Heights, which apparently is the area's Orthodox Jewish neighborhood. I've signed up for a Hassidic walking tour at 10am at the neighborhood Welcome Center.

Synagogue / university

It turns out this wasn't just a general orthodox neighborhood: instead, the neighborhood is comprised of one specific Hassidic group. What you see here is their primary synagogue and center of religious education.

In my earlier post I was still laboring under the misconception that "Hassidic" and "orthodox" meant the same thing. So, I learned something today :)

A puzzle for you...

Based only on this picture, can you tell whether I'm in the American Museum of Natural History, or the Museum of Modern Art?
