Facebook's new data center

When I passed through Prineville, Oregon last year as part of my TransAmerica Trail bicycle ride, I learned Facebook was building a state-of-the-art data center in that city which would eventually house basically all of their servers (see here for a sample picture).

Facebook just published a very interesting web site describing the technical details of their new data center, both in terms of the facility as a whole as well as the servers it will contain. Although I'm still not a big fan of Facebook as a service (since the combination of limited post length and immediate feedback seems to lead to a culture of people wasting huge amounts of time congratulating each other for having breakfast), but reading the technical documents on this web site did help me gain respect for Facebook as a technology company.
