With all 33 of its turbines running at full capacity Grand Coulee Dam could generate 6,809 MW, making it the largest single producer of electricity in the United States.
It's also intimately tied up with Washington State's economic history, and why this state was assigned the production duties that it was assigned during WWII.
The rectangular building extending out from the left side of the dam is the third powerhouse, which I'll be touring today.
