I won't deny that trying to hear cases in this courthouse's circuit court today was frustrating: in every case, even though I'd picked a front-row seat in the gallery, I could only understand about half of what was being said.
What is the point of (barring unusual circumstances) requiring criminal proceedings to be open to the public when the attending public can't reliably understand what anyone is saying?
Counsel and defendants in this courtroom should have been provided with a podium and microphones.
