In part because once I complete this ride there won't be any ultra-long distance bicycle routes left which I'm that captivated by, and in part because I MAY not have a span of unbroken time this long again until retirement, once I get home I'll need to keep life's sense of adventure going in other ways. Here's what I've got so far:
Attending Burning Man again this summer (the artistic theme is "Metropolis," which contrasts perfectly with the largely rural nature of the TransAmerica Trail), and following that up with a driving tour duplicating the family vacations we used to take when I was a child.
Visiting Vancouver BC.
Get better at photography, particularly once the next iPhone model comes out. Taking pictures and dreaming up commentary for them has been one of the aspects of this trip I've enjoyed the most, as was also the case for my 2008 trip. I plan to continue doing this indefinitely, so if you've enjoyed this blog feel free to continue reading it once my TransAmerica trip is over.
More deliberately looking for things in the Seattle-Tacoma area which I've never done before.
