Speaking of the bike...

There it is. One thing that's a little bit different from other touring bikes you may have seen while driving is that there aren't bags attached to racks on the front fork. The front fork has the attachment points for them, but I've found that by using lightweight gear, and only taking what I absolutely need, they just aren't necessary.

I've also never experienced the handling problems other cyclists claim can result from only using rear bags, possibly because I kept their weight to a minimum.
