Another landmark

This summer camp had stilts all the kids could play with. One girl was particularly adept with the stilts, and could easily use the tallest ones (her name might have been Teri, but I really can't remember...). At one point I lost my grip on my stilts and dropped them right in front of her, and I remember looking up at her to apologize and realizing that this person was beautiful in an entirely different kind of way. In other words, that this might be that "puberty" thing I'd been hearing about.

Later on I remember writing her name with a heart around it on some bulletin board in my cabin, without signing my name, and when nobody was looking.
