I'm participating in a day-long training session at the UW Law School for attorneys who want to become more effective board members of arts nonprofits. It's apparently the same training (by ArtsFund) which is offered to Boeing execs who serve on nonprofit boards of directors.
Eventually, I would like to find some useful role on the board of an arts organization which serves a similar community to that which the Burning Man festival serves. Being able to be consistently useful and productive in nonprofit governance, just in general, was one of the main benefits I hoped to gain from becoming an attorney in the first place.
